About the Event
Lisbeth Coiman is a poet and educator from Venezuela. Her debut book, I Asked the Blue Heron: A Memoir (2017) explores the intersection between immigration and mental health. Her poetry collection, Uprising / Alzamiento (Finishing Line Press) will be released in the fall of 2021. Coiman lives in Los Angeles, CA. https://lisbethcoiman.com.
César L. De León is the author of "speaking with grackles by soapberry trees" (FlowerSong 2021). He is a poet-organizer for Poets Against Walls and his poetry has been published in various anthologies and journals. César is a Golden Circle Award recipient from The University of Columbia Press and he holds an MFA in creative writing with a certificate in Mexican American studies from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Alan Chazaro is the author of This Is Not a Frank Ocean Cover Album (Black Lawrence Press, 2019), Piñata Theory (Black Lawrence Press, 2020), and Notes from the Eastern Span of the Bay Bridge (Ghost City Press, 2021). He is a graduate of June Jordan’s Poetry for the People program at UC Berkeley and a former Lawrence Ferlinghetti Fellow at the University of San Francisco. He writes for SFGATE, KQED, Oaklandside, 48Hills, and other publications, and is on Twitter and IG being a useless pocho millennial @alan_chazaro.
