About the Event

The kickback was conceived by a new poet, for new poets to help clarify our unique artistic processes - but poets of any experience level are welcome to the sandbox!

The simple idea of the kickback is to bring the Metacognitive approach to bear on the task of clarifying and refining our personal process in writing poetry, from conception to presentation. It's a space for us to identify how we get our unique poetry message out of our spirit and onto the page and stage. This month we’ll get in the sandbox with our personal metaphors – scenery and images from our own life paths that are full of meaning and associations for us in the crazy, personal logics of feeling. We'll bring our metaphors and see how we do/can deploy them in our writing to more powerfully convey our message. (RSVP to receive prep notes for the workshop.).

Facilitated by Tasha Thomas.
