Orange 
Kimiko White

I fall in love with sunsets
and fallen leaves
sweet fruits like tangerines,
and heart-shaped pansies -
leave me warm in comfort.

Kimiko White is a Long Beach, California native poet who currently attends Tuskegee University as an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in English. She is a student in the Community Literature Initiative (CLI) season 9 Austin chapter poetry publishing course. Kimiko has performed in spoken word open mics across southern California, central Alabama as well as an array of virtual open mics set in different states across the country. Kimiko is published in Writer’s Pocket anthologies, Silhouettes at Dusk, as well as Fire and Ice. Her work is inspired by the late Langston Hughes, Rudy Francisco, as well as Shane Koyczan. Her poetry is intended to emphasize the beauty of
nature, tribulations, and change.
